Testimonials.
Here is the testimonal that I've been late on getting to you for some time
now....
I've been meaning to write this for some time now. I wanted to let you know that when I first began doing triathlons all I thought about going into a race was trying to finish. Yes, I trained for each event but did so with an emphasis of just "making it". Eventually, I became comfortable and realized that I could finish and settled into finishing in the 65th to 70th percentile of almost every race I did in a season, as much as eight races a year. In 1998, I decided to do an Ironman, again I got scared wondering if I could just finish but something made me decide that if I was willing to commit to such a significant thing in one's life that I should do more than just finish...I should do my very best. I did my research and found you.
It was a great decision by me so much that as I write this today (in 2000) you are still coaching me. Well, I'm sure the readers want to know what impact you had on me. Simple, I finished my first IM very strong for a man my age (44) 12 hours and I am now focused on qualifying for Kona. Evenmoreso, I have consistently improved my finishes over the past three years regardless of distance and now find myself in the top 25% of every race I have entered. Your coaching has been the difference. I know that your ability to go beyond simple workout schedules and covering everything from proper gear, nutrition, race strategies and psychology has been the difference between wanting to continue in this sport and not.
I encourage anyone who may have a goal of just simply getting into shape or even one of competing and improving performance to seek out coaching. However, not just any coaching but one that encompasses all the critical elements; this type of experience will easily be the difference between success and failure and remember success is measured in many ways (not just performance) happiness and how long you stick with it......"
